Brenda Hales

Brenda has worked in a number of capacities in IRS for over 32 years, each with increased program responsibility. She is currently a Senior Tax Analyst in the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) Policy Section, which she has played an integral role for nearly 12 years. The ITIN Policy Section (IPS) establishes policy and procedure and is responsible for oversight of the ITIN Program which includes two components; Form W-7, Application for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number processing and the IRS Acceptance Agent Program. Brenda has participated in a number of educational seminars and workshops geared toward impacted stakeholders, many of which involve interaction with the tax professional community, to ensure ITINs are issued to eligible taxpayers.
