IRS Chief of Communications and Liaison
Terry is the IRS Chief of Communications and Liaison, overseeing national outreach and communications efforts for the tax agency. His portfolio includes serving as the lead of the Security Summit Communications team, a joint effort between the IRS, the states and the private-sector tax industry to battle identity theft and encourage data security. He is a 20-year veteran of the IRS and was recognized in 2017 with a Presidential Rank Award, the highest honor given to career federal government executives. Previously, Terry worked for 15 years as a newspaper reporter and editor, including serving as Washington Bureau Chief of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette where he covered the White Houe and Congress during the Clinton administration.
