Education and Outreach Manager, Franchise Tax Board
For 25 years, Alvaro E. Hernandez has worked for the Franchise Tax Board (FTB), and for most of those years he has provided education and outreach services to taxpayers, small business owners, and other stakeholders. Alvaro now serves as the Advocate Adminstration, Education, and Outreach Services Section Manager, in the Taxpayers’ Rights Advocate’s Office. He coordinates the development of education and outreach information materials for taxpayers, the small business community, tax practitioners, and other stakeholders to assist them with their income tax responsibilities, provides them with new law impacts, as well as shares FTB programs and services available. Some of the outreach information includes publications, Tax News, and our FTB presentations at a variety of educational events.
Alvaro has on enterprise perspective of FTB from working in a variety of different divisions which include Audit, Collections, and Administration Services. Also, he serves as the department’s spokesperson for the Spanish media. Alvaro graduated from the California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government.
